Privacy Policy

China Rail Guide is a static, English-language guide to travelling China by high-speed rail. We keep this simple: we don’t run user accounts, we don’t ask you to fill in forms, and we don’t use advertising or analytics tracking. This page explains what little data is involved and the third-party services the site relies on.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information ourselves. There are no sign-ups, no contact forms, and no advertising or analytics cookies set by us. We do not build profiles of visitors or sell any data — we have none to sell.

Third-party services

Browsing or using the site may involve these services, each with its own privacy policy:

• Hosting (Cloudflare): the site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
• Web fonts (Google Fonts): pages load the Inter typeface from Google’s font servers, so your browser contacts Google and Google may receive your IP address.
• Booking links (Trip.com): our “book” buttons are affiliate links to Trip.com. When you click one you leave our site for Trip.com, where their privacy policy applies. A cookie may be set so any booking is attributed to us and we earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you.
• Email (Cloudflare Email Routing): if you email hello@chinarailguide.com, your message is forwarded to our personal inbox. We use your email address only to reply to you.

Route maps shown on the site are static images generated in advance; viewing them does not send any request to a mapping provider from your browser.

Cookies

We do not set tracking or analytics cookies. Third parties above may set their own cookies — for example Cloudflare for security, or Trip.com when you click a booking link and visit their site.

Affiliate links & money

Some booking links are affiliate links; if you book through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes the schedules, fares, or guidance we publish. See our About page for more on how we work.

Children

This site is a general travel guide and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes (for example, if we add analytics in future). Updates will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
