China Rail Guide

About China Rail Guide

China Rail Guide is an independent, English-first guide to travelling China by high-speed rail. It's built for international tourists and business travelers who need clear answers about routes, stations, fares, and how to actually board a train — information that is scattered, outdated, or Chinese-only almost everywhere else.

What we cover

  • Routes — journey times, fares, train types, and which station to use.
  • Stations — lines served, metro and airport links, and how to reach each one.
  • Guides — booking, boarding, seat classes, and train types for first-timers.

How we source information

Route and station details are compiled from public railway timetables, station information, and mapping data, then written and reviewed for an English-speaking audience. Fares and journey times are approximate: they vary by train and season and change over time. Always confirm on the official 12306 system or your booking platform before you travel.

How we make money

Some booking links on this site are affiliate links — if you book through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. These links are always clearly marked, and they never change the schedules, fares, or guidance we publish. We are not a ticket seller and are not affiliated with China Railway or 12306.
